Large-scale watercolor painting themed after the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour, Winter Park, Florida. The Venetian canal connects Lake Osceola and Lake Maitland together by an old logging channel. The winding canal is navigated today by the boat tour and other small watercraft. A figure in the lower right gestures to a spider web hanging overhead while molecular forms float across the painting’s surface. A detailed rendering of Chlorophyll is embedded into the foliage of hanging vines which points to underlying themes of environmental interconnectivity. The right hand side of the composition is stacked with pixelated color blocks that bring traditional approaches to media into a modern conceptualization of how the digitized world interacts with reality in a separate domain. Even though they are separated by a column white they compliment each other through their shared color rhythms.
